This forest has got a great wildlife beauty. This is popularly known as "SASANGIR LION SANCTUARY". The huge collection of lions differ from the ones in the African sanctuaries, in the physical appearance. These lions have got a thinner and shorter mane co mpared to those of the African lions. Other animals like python, sambhar, elphants are the other animals which are found in this jungle.

"Parmadan Deer Park", a wild life sanctuary, in memory of the great writer Bibhuti Bhushan Banerjee who loved the forests, was inaugrated at Parmadan. The history says that 124 spotted deer live in the shade of Shishu, Minjiri, Arjun and Shimul.
